Phantom Fenders install quickly without any drilling or permanent modifications to your bike. Most riders complete the installation in about 5 minutes.
What You'll Need
- Your Phantom Fenders (2 fenders included in set)
- The 8 heavy-duty zip ties included with your purchase
- A pair of pliers (for tightening zip ties securely)
Installation Steps
Front Fender
- Position the fender beneath your down tube or on your fork, centered over the front wheel with the curved side facing down toward the tire.
- Thread zip ties through the pre-made holes in the fender and around your fork or frame tubes.
- Adjust the height so the fender sits approximately 1-2 inches above the tire to allow for suspension travel and prevent rubbing.
- Tighten the zip ties firmly using pliers. Hand-tightening alone is not recommended.
- Trim excess zip tie length with scissors or side cutters for a clean look.
Rear Fender
- Position the fender under your seat tube or seat stays, centered over the rear wheel.
- Route zip ties through the fender holes and around your seat post, seat tube, or seat stays.
- Ensure proper clearance above the tire (1-2 inches minimum).
- Secure with pliers and trim the excess.
Pro Tips
- Use all included zip ties for maximum stability—don't skip attachment points.
- Double-check alignment before final tightening to ensure the fender is centered over the wheel.
- Re-check after your first ride—zip ties may need a slight re-tightening after initial use.
Troubleshooting
If your fender rotates or shifts, add additional zip ties at different angles or use the included spares to create redundant attachment points.
