Can I Get a 4th Shock Bolt Cover for My Aftermarket Exhaust?

We understand the appeal—you've installed an aftermarket exhaust on your Indian Scout, and now that fourth shock bolt is exposed and visible. You want a clean, uniform look with all four bolts covered.

Our Policy

We do not sell individual 4th shock bolt covers, and here's why:

The Problem with Aftermarket Exhausts

While some aftermarket exhaust systems (like "shorty" pipes) do move heat away from the lower shock bolt area, we've received mixed feedback from riders who've attempted to cover that fourth bolt:

  • Some report the cover holds up fine
  • Others report melting within weeks
  • Long-term durability remains uncertain

Because exhaust configurations, riding conditions, and heat dissipation vary significantly between setups, we cannot guarantee a cover will survive in that location—even with an aftermarket exhaust.

Why We Won't Make an Exception

We stand behind our products with a quality guarantee. Selling a cover we know may fail under certain conditions isn't something we're willing to do.

Our Recommendation

If covering the fourth bolt is important to you, consider:

  • Aluminum or metal bolt caps (heat resistant)
  • Powder-coated steel covers from other manufacturers
  • Leaving the bolt exposed—many riders find 3 covered bolts still provides a much cleaner look

We appreciate your understanding. Our priority is providing products that perform reliably for years, not ones that may cause problems down the road.
